♥ Minae's Life ♥ Janurary so far

I am so sorry for the lack of updates. If you read my previous post it briefly explained why I was absent, and how I was going to go into further detail later on in the week. Unfortunately a lot more things happened to me this month that made me have to put blogging on hold for a while longer (apologies!) so I'm just going to let you all know about what exactly happened during those last few weeks of me being offline ^^

If you follow my twitter you will see various rants (lol) from me about some of the events I'm going to talk about. Apologies if posts like this annoy you, I just felt like I owed you all a explanation and a little bit of info on my life right now >.<

Like I said on my previous post, during the first few days of this year I managed to sprain my ankle and pull a ligament in my foot after landing badly while practicing a routine. I ended up having to put a cast on it for a while so for a few weeks I was going at snails pace. Fortunately enough, the cast isn't on me any longer and the sprain has gone. My ligament is still healing so my doctor said I shouldn't dance for a while until at least mid February which is a shame, but I can walk normally now so that's a plus.

Another situation was to do with my college. Because of Business Studies (a subject I couldn't stand - I've got no idea what possessed me to choose the subject) I ended up feeling very anxious and nauseous. It brought back my anxiety and caused me to have 2 panic attacks in one week. Of course, my mother wasn't happy with this, so she called up the college and we had to attend a meeting (which was actually today). Long story short, She was able to talk to one of the nicer teachers at my college, and got me off the course. Now I'm able to take up a new subject next year (this year september), and carry on with my other subjects, which I'm really pleased about!

A few other events happened which is more to do with my friends so I wont go too into detail about those, but lets just say there was a lot of comforting going on this month (due to deaths, break-ups, accidents etc).

So overall, so far Janurary hasn't been the best to me right now, but not all was lost as I was able to learn a lot of things this month such as;

- I cannot handle confrontation, especially when I'm being yelled at or forced to do something I disagree with.

- Nothing will get resolved if you don't tell people how you feel and what you want.
- I can handle intense physical pain.
- I can't handle needles and injections.
- "Friends" who only talk to you when need something out of you are not true friends.
- Friends who put you before their education (despite your protests) are ones you should hold onto forever and never ever let go.
- The UK education system sucks.
- So do Business studies teachers.
- The weather forecast in the UK always lies when they say "a chance of snow" and "a few sunny spells" for London. They're always wrong.

That's all I've got for today!

I will be posting a new haul soon so look out for that!

Anime you should watch (Winter 2015 edition)

Tuesday, 13 January 2015

Hi everyone! Sorry about the lack of posts.. During the first few days of this year I managed to pull a ligament and sprain my ankle, which kind of put me out of action for a while. But I'm recovering, so it's all good~ If you stick around this week you can find out more about that in the next edition of Minae's Life! ^^

This post is coming at you all a little late, as I was supposed to post this last week (sorry!) so some of the anime on this list are already currently airing. It's not so bad though, because If you want to watch the anime listed, you'll only have to catch up 1-2 20 minute episodes! xD

Here is a list of cool anime that I'm planning to watch, and some that I think you all should check out too. ^^

Absolute Duo
 Absolute Duo

The story begins with Blaze—a weapon that is the manifestation of a human's soul. Tooru Kokonoe happens to be qualified for this, but for some reason his Blaze is not a weapon, but a shield. Moreover, he enrolled in a school that teaches combat skills, and thanks to the school's Duo partner system, he ends up living with a beautiful silver-haired girl.

Type: TV
Episodes: 12

Status: Currently Airing
Genres: Action, Ecchi, Romance, School, Harem, Supernatural
Duration: 24 min. per episode
Rating: R - 17+ (violence & profanity)

Minae's Note: For some reason, this reminds me of Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo, which is my all time favorite anime. The plot isn't the same but it holds similarities, so I'm curious as to how this anime will play out~

Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu LOVE!

Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu Love!

This is the tale of five unlikely heroes who unite under the name of the "Earth Defense Club" alongside a pink wombat-like alien to defend their world and restore love to all; however, does a sinister organization lurk behind the scenes of Binan High school?

Type: TV
Episodes: 12
Status: Currently Airing
Genres: Comedy, Magic, Slice of Life
Duration: 24 min. per episode
Rating: PG-13 - Teens 13 or older

Minae's Note: The two anime that this reminded me of when I first saw the trailer was Maji LOVE 1000% and Sailor Moon, so I had to check it out! If you love these two anime you should give this one a try too, we may be surprised at the outcome haha ^^

Tokyo Ghoul √A
Tokyo Ghoul √A

Minae's Note: There isn't much to say about this anime other than, If you loved Tokyo Ghoul, you should watch this series too. It's loosely based on the Manga and its directed along side Ishida himself (the original Tokyo Ghoul creator) so Ghoul fans can rejoice!

Warning!: It is quite gory (although its censored) so if you're squeamish like me you may need to avoid this anime.

The story tells of a young boy named Moroha Haimura who comes to this private school.
At the school, there are two types of people: Saviors, who fight enemies with weapons and techniques gleaned from the Puraana powers from their own bodies, and Kuroma, who wipe out enemies with magic to manipulate the Maana powers that surpass physics. Ten years after the Great Tokyo War, each prefecture in Japan has split up into independent nations. Each nation is ruled by a prophet called "Mosa" and an army called "Mob" as they start to compete to take over other countries. Four "Mob" girls from the Saitama clan, Nozomi, Yukina, Ai, and Chiaya, are ordered by their "Mosa" to mediate multiple battles between nations and clans as they emerge.
Type: TV
Episodes: Unknown
Status: Currently Airing
Genres: Slice of Life
Duration: 24 min. per episode
Rating: None

Minae's note: I'm actually pretty scared to watch this after seeing the genre "Slice of life" because recently Slice of life anime has been anything but that. Let's see if this anime leads a Sora no Method route or a Yuuki Yuuna route xD

I hope this post gave you some cool anime to add to your plan to watch lists! I for one still need to finish some of the fall anime from 2014, so I'll probably start watching these next week when I don't have to worry about mock exams ^^:
If you don't watch anime, you should give it a try. A lot of people find it weird and sometimes childish, but you can find pretty amazing anime with different types of genres and age ranges for everyone.

That's all for today! Thank you all so much for reading!

☾Leimotif☽Who needs personal space?

Who needs personal space?

First up on my new segment 'Leimotif' will be looking at the theme "personal space". Who needs it? Simple question really, anyone that wants it. Personal space is something that should be respected at all times and not overlooked. If someone wants space, they are entitled to it, and no one else has the right to go against that. So why is it that when a few members of EXO, a Korean pop group, come to London for a paid vacation, fans decide to invade their personal space?

Idols and Celebrities alike seem to only be graced with personal space during one period of their lives, before they get famous. Once they're relatively famous, their space becomes our space. We decide how much space they want, and how much time alone they need. Those celebrities don't get a choice in that. Their fans will decide those things for them, because we're entitled to it, right?

For some reason, many fans have developed this belief that they're allowed to touch or be intimate with an idol, and that their idol shouldn't hold anything against them for doing so because its a "fans right" to get up close and personal. For some reason, they think that its okay to keep grabbing onto their biases arm when they're pleading for them to stop. For some reason, those fans say that "these guys are celebrities, they should expect this to happen to them".

Not only these fans, but everyone needs to realize that even though we are at the stage where we expect to see celebrities being grabbed at and followed endlessly by their fans, it doesn't ever make it okay to let it happen. One of my friends who went to the Airport to see them said it was a complete disaster, many fans were disrespectful to the managers and security gaurds who pleaded for them to move back, and forced their way towards the members of EXO to be able to touch them or get a good view. It's no secret that EXO have... very emotional fans, some of which go to extreme levels just to see their favorite members. Unfortunately, because of the fans that believe its okay to invade their idols personal space, it gives the fandom a bad name, and makes the group, that they're are supposed to support and love, feel uncomfortable when they're around their fans.

This doesn't just count for celebrities, but for every person living on this planet. If a person doesn't feel comfortable with how close you are standing next to them, it's within their right to politely ask you to give them some space. You shouldn't take offence to that and try to move closer to them. The only thing that does is create friction between you and that person, and it would make that person weary whenever they ever meet up with you again.

Celebrities know that most of the fans do what they do because they love them, and they don't realize that they're actually borderline harassing the person they love because they're so caught up in the moment to notice what they're doing is wrong. Imagine how Idols must feel when they get off a 10+ hour flight, and one of their fans clings onto them and doesn't let go, despite their pleading to stop. Take a moment to think about how celebrities may feel when their personal space is being invaded. They're humans too, and deserve to be treated as such.

Hopefully, when the four members of EXO head back to S.Korea after their filming, the fans here in the UK will be less pushy and aggressive as they see them off.

Hello 2015! Smaller Resolutions + BLOG ANNOUNCEMENT ♥

Friday, 2 January 2015

Hi everyone! We're in 2015!!!
Embedded image permalink

Wahh, my first post of this year!

I hope everyone had a very nice transition into 2015. Let's all leave all the bad times behind us, remember all the good times we shared with loved ones, and focus on what's in front of us, 2015!

I for one am super happy that its finally 2015. For me this is a completely new start. As I mentioned countless times last year, 2014 was a bad year....like 2 out of 10 bad. This year however, I plan to change that. My last post of 2014 had a huge list of resolutions that I took upon myself, but this post will show all my smaller resolutions. By that I mean, things that I don't need to focus too much on, but would be very nice to achieve during this year.

Have a motive everyday - This year I want to wake up each morning and say "I'm going to do this today" and actually do it! It doesn't have to be huge things, anything is fine. As long as I can go to bed saying "I did something today" I'll be satisfied.

Learn Japanese - This is something that I wanted to do last year but never got round to doing. I do hope I can do it this year so I can go to Japan and be able to converse with people and watch Anime and Jdrama without needing subs HAHA!

Manage my money - Do I really need that cheese burger that's £2.99 when I could get a pasta salad for £1.99? Making better decisions with my money is something that I will need to start doing this year.

Learn how to cook - My mum usually cooks for us everyday, and when she's not feeling well her friend (and our neighbour) would cook for us because he knows my father is too lazy to do it. This year I'm going to take some notes on how my mum cooks, get some recipes from online, and get cooking (and baking!)

Dye my hair - One thing I've always wanted to do but have never found the confidence to do was Dye my hair, but this year I feel like I'm ready! I'm trying to figure out whether to go with a lighter brown, or go all out with a Brown to Red to Pink ombre style. I'll keep you updated on that!

Watch and Read at least 5 Anime and Manga each season - I have a problem with starting anime that I find interesting, watching it for 3-4 episodes then never looking back. That ends now, with the winter season anime and manga coming out, I'm going to set 5 each as a "plan to read" on myanimelist, and try to actually finish it!

Watch a Kdrama and JDrama each season - The same as with Anime, I never finish drama's anymore.. I guess they don't get my attention as Drama's did back in 2009-12. Hopefully we see good drama's this year that will keep my attention..

Watch more movies - I've missed so many movies last year that were big because my friends didn't want to see them.. This year I have two options, go make friends who want to watch the same films as me, or watch it on my own xD

Read more! - I bought a lot of books last year and I only read 3 books in total, not including Manga. I want to finish all the new books I bought and find some new novels to read~ If you guys have any suggestions please recommend them to me!

Try to post at least 3 times a week - I'm actually ashamed that I couldn't keep my word almost every time I said I'd upload a post tomorrow and then never did. I wan't to try blogging more frequently, so I will try my hardest to not mess up!

Talk to bloggers more! - I'm kinda shy still, so it's a little awkward commenting on other peoples posts when I want to say something. This year I hope I can reply to all of your comments and send other people comments on their posts~

Work on HTML coding - It's not my thing at all, but I would like to try coding some more, to make my blog look pretty!

We're now in the year 2015, which means that I'm going to be making changes to my blog content!
These plans are subject to change, but for now here is what you all can look forward to on my blog from now on!
